Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first post as a producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as an reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration drugs, immigration, as well as others on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. They eventually were moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She has an elder sister. She has an older sister. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother got married to one of the naval architects called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. She stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime and was offered an opportunity to work. Antonietta had just graduated high school, however she knew her plans for what she would accomplish. The result was that she enjoyed the university, and the university offered the major she wanted. When she completed her high school education she attended the university to study media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the manager of WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a member. He inspired her to have confidence and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her. She in turn, strived to fulfill his expectations and never fail him.
